This weekend, Santa Clara is expecting one of its busiest transit days in years as Super Bowl LX brings tens of thousands of fans to Levi’s Stadium and events across the South Bay. With crowds surging and travel patterns shifting, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is preparing for a major increase in ridership, and Clever Devices is supporting them every step of the way.

VTA’s expansive network stretches across Silicon Valley with over 400 fixed‑route buses and nearly 100 light rail vehicles. It’s a system built for daily reliability, but big events add new layers of complexity. That’s where advance preparation, real‑time visibility, and strong operational coordination become essential.
Putting Riders First During a Regional Event of This Scale
Super Bowl LX is expected to bring over 70,000 attendees to Levi’s Stadium, along with tens of thousands more traveling throughout Santa Clara for pre‑game activities, local events, and fan experiences. For VTA, that means:
-
Increased bus loads across multiple corridors
-
Higher‑than‑usual light rail demand directly to the stadium
-
More first‑time riders are navigating the system
-
The need for extremely reliable real‑time information
Clever Devices’ goal is simple: Give VTA the confidence and technical support they need to deliver seamless, predictable service during one of the busiest weekends of the year.

Strengthening On‑Site Support for a Major Ridership Surge
VTA manages a number of service alerts, announcements, and updates to keep passengers informed. With an influx of visitors, many of them first-time VTA passengers, smooth communication is critical to getting everyone to their destinations safely and on time this Super Bowl weekend.
These passenger communications are powered by Clever Devices technology, and to ensure the underlying systems perform exactly as VTA needs them to during the busiest moments of Super Bowl weekend, we're increasing our on-the-ground presence.
Dennis K., our local Field Technician, is already embedded with VTA year‑round. For Super Bowl LX, we’re sending an additional Field Service Supervisor, Ray L., to join him on‑site in the days leading up to and throughout the event. Ray and Dennis’ roles are to stay ahead of any issues, support VTA staff directly, and ensure the systems VTA uses run smoothly throughout the weekend.
The Systems Support Engineer and Systems Engineer teams, represented by Sahabjeet S. (SSE) and Vince W. (SE), also play an important role. Sahabjeet and Vince will continue to support configuration and performance needs behind the scenes, ensuring VTA’s systems remain optimized as service frequency and passenger loads increase.
Project Manager Haley T. has worked with VTA to develop a Super Bowl–specific database of service announcements to keep riders informed as service is adjusted throughout the weekend.
Our TAC team is also watching the event timeline closely and stands ready to support any incoming requests from VTA as high‑priority. Whether it’s troubleshooting or escalation, they’re prepared to respond quickly and collaboratively.
Service in Sync: The Value of Being Prepared
The success of this effort depends on the close collaboration between field technicians, engineers, project managers, TAC, and VTA’s own operations teams. Each plays a role in ensuring the technology VTA depends on remains stable, responsive, and ready for the crowds.
VTA is prepared for the weekend ahead. Clever Devices is in sync with them, whether on the ground or behind the scenes, and ready to support as they keep Santa Clara moving.
